Part-time High School Media Production Program Coordinator
Duties include:
o Oversee high school media production work-study after school program;
o Support student productions and school event coverage including high school sports and news program to be shown on educational access channels;
o Support use of the media arts and curriculum development with teachers and specialists to create content for the channels;
o Recruit and supervise area college students for Production Internships and Volunteer positions;
o Co-coordinate an annual citywide Media Fair for the presentation of student work.
Minimum Requirements:
o Experience working with children and adults in media art education;
o Must possess strong technical and production skills. Knowledge of Final Cut Pro is required.
o Experience working with diverse populations in an urban environment and familiarity with school setting preferred.
The position requires a 20-hour per week commitment from September 2, 2008 – June 12, 2009. The Media Production Program operates Monday – Thursday 12:30 – 5:30 PM (includes in school and after school hours) with some flexibility for event/sports coverage and special programs. Rate of pay is $20/hr. Possibility of extra hours to be determined based on grant funding.
