GETTIN’ REAL ON REEL ~ Being the 84
a youth-produced film-shorts contest for 2008
Here’s a chance for youth to show why they’re a part of The 84! What is “The 84� It’s the 84% of Massachusetts youth who choose not to smoke!
Mass Youth Against Tobacco, in partnership with WCVB-TV Channel 5, are excited to announce its SECOND ANNUAL FILM-SHORTS CONTEST. We invite all high-school aged youth across Massachusetts to enter their original 30-second film-shorts into our statewide contest. We want them to show why they’re part of The 84 with their unique, tobacco-free messages!
This year, there are 3 categories to enter!
-Yo, It Beats Smoking: Show the cool things that you do that “beats smoking.â€
-Do Something: Show the toll tobacco takes on smokers and their loved ones.
-Truthenize: Show that you aren’t buying into the tobacco industry’s lies.
The Top 10 Film-Shorts Finalists will:
- Win prizes!
- Be featured on The 84’s website (www.the84.org) and WCVB Channel 5's E-Campus Homepage (www.thebostonchannel.com/ecampus).
- The Grand Prize Winner and Runners-Up will be eligible for cash prizes, and their film-shorts will be aired on WCVB-TV and/or movie theaters across the state!
